Summary

In a frozen dystopia where inhabitants eat flesh to survive, can the destructive powers of fire bring salvation?

In the not-too-distant past, the Ice Witch blankets the world in snow, starvation, and madness, leading the inhabitants to seek their salvation in fire。 With that, an unusual destiny unfolds for two young orphans, Agni and Luna, blessed with the ability to regenerate。 But will this ability prove to be more of a curse than a blessing?

Orphaned siblings Agni and Luna, like the Ice Witch who cursed their world, are two of the “blessed,” humans who hold special abilities。 However, not all who are blessed are friendly, and after another of their kind attacks him and decimates his village, Agni fights to survive, vowing revenge。

Chapter 1 is truly brutal, and it hooks the reader。 After that you’re just hungry for more。 I read the entire story in a day。 I think it could have been a bit shorter。 I also really like the underlying message。 Fire punch as a whole, gets 3。4 stars, but I really like the first volume。

this is one where you gotta look up the tws before reading but it was interesting。 I love fujimoto's art style and all the film references, I fucking hate the main character, I love togata, and his representation of gender。 the manga was kinda confusing at parts but overall I'm rockin with it。 gives me nihilism, futility of our actions, the earth will ultimately outlive us themes which freaks me out :/ this is one where you gotta look up the tws before reading but it was interesting。 I love fujimoto's art style and all the film references, I fucking hate the main character, I love togata, and his representation of gender。 the manga was kinda confusing at parts but overall I'm rockin with it。 gives me nihilism, futility of our actions, the earth will ultimately outlive us themes which freaks me out :/ 。。。more

“Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Every night, I can feel my leg… and my arm… even my fingers。 The body I’ve lost… the comrades I’ve lost… won’t stop hurting… It’s like they’re all still there。 You feel it, too, don’t you?”

4。5 starsI didn't end up finishing Chainsaw Man, but I really enjoy this authors way of storytelling, and subverting cliched storylines (revenge, heroes, etc) 。 The characters are really great, and this manga is literally a perfect combinations of sad, dark, and funny。This manga has a relatively low rating, and many users disagree with the usage of topics such as cannibalisms。 I definitely see why you would hate this manga for that, and at times it did feel a little edgy, but I feel as though it 4。5 starsI didn't end up finishing Chainsaw Man, but I really enjoy this authors way of storytelling, and subverting cliched storylines (revenge, heroes, etc) 。 The characters are really great, and this manga is literally a perfect combinations of sad, dark, and funny。This manga has a relatively low rating, and many users disagree with the usage of topics such as cannibalisms。 I definitely see why you would hate this manga for that, and at times it did feel a little edgy, but I feel as though it was handled relatively well, and it didn't take itself to seriously。 。。。more

Using volume 1 to represent the entire 8 volume series。

Ok so the first volume is horrid, but when Togata comes in, the chapters with no dialogue when the characters do horrible things, the treatment of religion。 Even if it can be waaay too obious what they are trying to do at times, wondelfull overall。

3。5With a start of the story being what it was I didn’t know what to expect。 The story itself as the book goes on is pretty good but seems all over the place。 It is the same with the art great in some places in others I have no idea what the panel is meant to represent

4/5 I wanted to give this one ago since I'm really enjoying the author's other work, Chainsaw Man。 Fire Punch is a dystopian, horror, super hero story。 The world is completely frozen over due to the power of someone called the Ice Witch。 The main character, Agni, has a regenerative super power。 He's using it to feed his village by chopping off his limbs repeatedly and giving them to the starving townspeople。 Shortly into the volume Agni is attacked by another person whose super power is to burn 4/5 I wanted to give this one ago since I'm really enjoying the author's other work, Chainsaw Man。 Fire Punch is a dystopian, horror, super hero story。 The world is completely frozen over due to the power of someone called the Ice Witch。 The main character, Agni, has a regenerative super power。 He's using it to feed his village by chopping off his limbs repeatedly and giving them to the starving townspeople。 Shortly into the volume Agni is attacked by another person whose super power is to burn things until there is nothing left。 However since Agni constantly regenerates he continues to burn forever。 Agni lives in constant agony burning alive for almost 10 years before he is able to regain control of his body。 He then off course sets out for revenge。The story is dark and graphic, I love it。 It is also very well drawn。 Trigger warnings for some this book has a bit of everything awful。 Incest, Rape, Bestialities, and gore abound。 Thankfully the gore is the only thing graphically portrayed。 Agni on the cover of volume 1。Read 4/13/21 。。。more

This was disturbing。 Bleak dystopian world, where really bad people live and there seems to be no hope。 I do not know if this series will make sense in the end, however, the first book provides an interesting view on what it means to not give up and keep on living。 The book is not bad per se, but it is horrifying to read。 Everything feels very uneasy and wrong。 Even a scene with cute dogs is fucked up and horrible。 I have no idea what to think about it so fat, but I wanted to see what the author This was disturbing。 Bleak dystopian world, where really bad people live and there seems to be no hope。 I do not know if this series will make sense in the end, however, the first book provides an interesting view on what it means to not give up and keep on living。 The book is not bad per se, but it is horrifying to read。 Everything feels very uneasy and wrong。 Even a scene with cute dogs is fucked up and horrible。 I have no idea what to think about it so fat, but I wanted to see what the author of Chainsaw man did before and he made amazing progress from this disgusting story and then doing Chainsaw man。 。。。more

I don’t have a problem with the rape or violence, I have a problem with how suddenly and poorly it’s presented。 A post apocalyptic world is bound to have some fucked up shit, but those moments kinda spring up out of nowhere for the shock value, making it come across as comical rather than serious。 The pacing is pretty terrible as well。

Tatsuki Fujimoto is an interesting author。 He clearly has a fascination with certain themes- religion, suffering, whether or not people are born good- but his later work tends to touch on those far more tastefully than they do in Fire Punch。Fire Punch is by no means a bad story; the concept of a regenerating man being tortured by his body being eternally enveloped in flame is an interesting concept。 This story suffers from the same problems as most torture porn suffers from, although I disagree Tatsuki Fujimoto is an interesting author。 He clearly has a fascination with certain themes- religion, suffering, whether or not people are born good- but his later work tends to touch on those far more tastefully than they do in Fire Punch。Fire Punch is by no means a bad story; the concept of a regenerating man being tortured by his body being eternally enveloped in flame is an interesting concept。 This story suffers from the same problems as most torture porn suffers from, although I disagree with the people who think it's pointless。 Fujimoto clearly has something he wants to say, I just don't know if he's articulating it in a way that's palatable to most people。 Fire Punch is grimdark, often for good reason, but reading more than a chapter at a time makes me feel a bit sick。 He does handle awful topics such as pedophilia, incest, slavery, and sexual assault as well as he can possibly can without ignoring the fact that all of those would likely be rampant in a post-apocalyptic world。 The viewer never sees these events fully play out, nor are they glorified or made to be entertainment。 It simply just is。 I find it a bit much, but I respect that it is done the way that it is。His art is always fantastic and gruesome, but Fujimoto's Fire Punch is worth a read only if you want to delve more into the mind of the author after reading Chainsaw Man。 It isn't for everyone。 I like certain parts of it, but I'm not even sure it's for me, either。 。。。more

Fire Punch is so appealing and the brutal approach is so intense。

。。。more
